My phone doesn't show up.
Unlock the phone, then pull down the notification shade and set the USB connection to File Transfer. Try a different cable if it still doesn't appear. Some cables only charge.
MarkDroid says another app is using my phone.
Only one app can talk to the phone over MTP at a time. Quit other phone-transfer apps, then unplug the phone and plug it back in.
How do I get faster transfers?
Turn on Developer options and USB debugging on the phone, then accept the prompt that appears when you plug it in. MarkDroid switches to ADB automatically.
I can open files but can't save to the phone.
Copying from the phone is always free. Saving, renaming, moving and deleting on the phone need the free 7-day trial, Yearly or Lifetime. Choose Upgrade… from the menu bar icon.
How do I restore a purchase on a new Mac?
Sign in to the App Store with the same Apple ID, open Upgrade… from the menu bar icon and choose Restore Purchase.
Where did my phone go in Finder?
Look under Locations in the Finder sidebar. If it isn't there, open Devices… from the menu bar icon and choose Mount.
